CHAD BARKHAHN
Owner/President/CEO
Tattooing Since: 1991
Sign: Saggitarius
Favorite Color: Carolina Blue
Favorite Pastime: Talking shit and long walks on the beach
Turn-ons: Chicken, Rubik's Cubes, and chicks
Turn-offs: Chicks, drama, and Rubik's Snakes
Quotes: "oooOOO!," "I have MS," and "I'll give ya half off if you do a cartwheel."

Chad started off as a young graffiti artist, then moved into airbrushing in the Fox River Mall. He did his first tattoo as a dare, but as he says, "as soon as the needle hit the skin, I knew I was hooked." Chad got an apprenticeship at an Appleton tattoo shop, "who instead of teaching, stole my artwork and showed me how not to run a business." He moved on to another local shop, which again was "not the right fit for me or my style." After working at just about every shop in the area, he decided to open Needle Freaks on April 1, 2001 -- and years later, here we are!

Chad would like to say to all who have been through our doors, "THANK YOU FOR MAKING US WHAT WE ARE! Extra thanks to my mom, my dad, Mike w/the Trike, Bryan, TJ, Becci, Cue, Dougie -- I owe ya one -- and anyone else I missed -- ya know who ya are!! Couldn't have done it without ya!!! Thanks!"

Thanks also to Kristy for teaching me a $20,000 lesson.

And by the way, Chad is not: dead, dying, in a wheelchair, incapacitated, unable to tattoo, or lonely. He just has MS.

JENNY BASLER
Tattoo Artist/Silk Road Gatekeeper/Mortal Kombatant Novice (whatever that is)
Tattooing Since: 1999
Sign: Gemini
Favorite Color: Orange
Favorite Pastime: Drunken Trampolining, and long walks on the beach
Turn-ons: Lights
Turn-offs: Lights
Quote: "It just got sexy in here."

Jenny's experience with tattooing began at Jim's Ice Cream Shop, where she would draw on random customers with a bic pen while drooling on herself.

She later honed her tattooing skills through the art of "temp tat rubbith," also known as rubbing temporary tattoos on people and convincing them they they are real. This masterful craft led her to Chicago, where she didn't really tattoo anyone...she just watched. After all, it's not like this shit is hard or anything, right?

(insert shit about my art school and degree).

But alas, the call of the Fox Cities brought her back home again.

(Insert valid tattoo experience here.)

Which is when she packed up her temporary tattoos and bic pens and moved to Needle Freaks, where she wooed Chad with her shoe collection and her mean rendition of the chicken dance.

She still can't tattoo, but she sure has nice tits.

AUBREY HULCE
Piercer
Piercing Since: 2005
Sign: Gemini
Favorite Color: All of them
Turn-ons: Peter Steele, jelly donuts
Turn-offs: Mullets, country music, and republicans
Quote: "Uh-huh-huh!"

Aubrey has been hanging out in tattoo shops since high school, but little did she expect to end up working at one! After a couple years of "shitty factory work," she started piercing at Needle Freaks in 2005, taught by one of Appleton's finest piercers.

"I've never been happier with a job, and every day I look forward to poking holes in new people!"
